Born to German immigrants, I was raised bilingually in Huntsville, AL where my father worked as a NASA Scientist. My appreciation for southern culture developed while living in Alabama, Louisiana, and New Mexico before proudly serving in the United States Army for the next 27 years. It was during my military service that I was exposed to the great European art museums and gained a deep appreciation for the arts.
My fascination with digital photography began in 2006 while on an African safari. Witnessing Brandon, our Jeep driver and guide, capturing images of a rare leopard with a Canon EOS 10D and immediately viewing the results on the LCD screen was a revelation. The instant feedback opened my eyes to the power of digital photography and its endless possibilities for creative expression. This experience led me to purchase a Canon EOS 30D and dive into the world of digital image capture.
Fine art photography has become my medium for creatively expressing emotion. My goal is to photograph the beauty of nature while finding my own inner peace through moments of introspection. The profound satisfaction that I find through this process inspires me to share my photography and connect with others who appreciate the beauty and peace found in nature.
